Do you want to seize the opportunity to make a lasting impression on boys and young men ages 7-17? If so, you will love to work on the Camp Caraway summer staff! This program is sponsored by NC Baptist Men. Camp Caraway is a Christian camp for boys ages 7-17 and is accredited by the American Camp Association. The staff has the awesome privilege to be a servant leader to these young men who come as campers and impact them by living a Godly lifestyle 24/7. There are 3 types of positions on the Camp Caraway staff: camp counselor (college age), photo/videographer (college age), and counselor in training (CIT - high school junior or senior).
A counselor has the exciting opportunity to lead his cabin of boys in their daily recreation and activities including: worship, missions study, daily devotions, campouts, cookouts, hiking, sports, archery, air rifles, sling shots, paint ball, high & low ropes challenge courses, zip line, water slides, kayaks, swimming in a pool and lake, games, skits, water fights, pedal race cars, and much more! Each cabin will average from 8-14 boys. Eighteen camp counselors will be hired for nine weeks at a starting salary of $190 a week, plus lodging, meals, and insurance at no cost. Orientation for staff will begin in early June and camp will end after the first week in August.
A counselor in training (CIT) is a high school-age young man who assists and learns from a camp counselor. CITs also help maintain and clean the camp facilities including working in the camp canteen and kitchen. To be eligible, a young man must be at least 16 years old and at least a rising junior. Five counselors in training (CITs) will be hired at a salary of $140 per week, plus food, lodging, and insurance.
We also need counselors or counselors in training with experience in: leading worship through music, drama, and audio visual.
